It was a challenge to work with a 250 kgs stone slate - but it was fun!
The result is impressive, with the finished dining table using the longest length possible of extracted stone (an incredible 3.5 metres) to create the ultimate ‘as long as you like’ table using beautiful, natural materials. The Lundhs ‘As long as you like’ tailor-made table can seat up to 14 family and friends with ease. At 250 kilos, it may not be one to move around the home but is an inspired design collaboration that merits a permanent place in the kitchen as a functional design statement that combines practicality with beauty.
The prototype of “As long as you like” was launched in 2015 at the Milan Design fair. The table was constructed from solid oak and Larvikite, a stone unique to norway from the Lundhs’ quarry in Larvik.
