Stonemason Kaja Dahl encapsulates the ethos of Tom Wood's Cove Collection with sculptures in Lundhs Emerald®.

Lundhs Emerald®, revered for its durability and luminous crystal structures, takes center stage in a sculptural collaboration between Norwegian stone sculptor Kaja Dahl and jewelry brand Tom Wood, titled "Dialogue in Stone". The collaboration is an extension of the recently launched collection, the Cove Collection, that is entirely made of Larvikite from Lundhs.

Dahl selected the stones directly from Lundhs’ Klåstad quarry, describing the experience as inherently intuitive: “Often, the path to a creation begins with an inspiring piece of raw material”. The resulting four sculptures are installed in Oslo, Tokyo, and Tom Wood’s showroom, seamlessly integrating elements from the brand’s Cove Collection with the rich tactility of natural stone.

"With an overall vision, I went to the Lundhs quarry to select the materials. You never know exactly what you will find, which is part of the exciting process, but here I found both pieces that gave direction and blocks that fit my sketches".

Positioned between nature and precision, the project reflects Dahl’s respectful dialogue with material. “Stone has a lot of resistance and a strong will, so I always work with, and not against nature,” she explains. By combining polished beads with matte, worked natural stone textures, Dahl emphasizes both contrast and cohesion. “In the sketching phase, I tested techniques and textures… By choosing this specific combination of polished beads, a white, worked texture, and the raw Larvikite surface, all four sculptures were easily connected”.

For Lundhs, whose stones are integral to monuments around the world, this collaboration highlights Larvikite’s evolving relevance. More than sculptural ornamentation, the sculptures act as contemporary monuments—embodying craftsmanship, longevity, and the raw integrity of Norwegian stone.
