Post

At SaloneSatellite 2026 in Milan, Norwegian designer Taran Neckelmann presents Post, a modular aluminum coat stand with a base in Lundhs Blue®.

Post brings together function, flexibility and material awareness in a design developed to meet both practical needs and a desire for longevity. Here, Neckelmann shares more about the project, her material choices, and the role sustainability plays in her work:

Post is a modular coat stand made of aluminum. It can be assembled in a wide range of configurations, allowing it to be adapted to individual needs. It expands on the typically slim, cylindrical profile of a coat stand, making it possible to use the interior for storing small items such as hats and mittens.

Why did you choose Lundhs Blue®?

- A coat stand needs a heavy, solid base to remain stable, so natural stone felt like a natural choice. Lundhs Blue® stood out straight away because it is a beautiful stone with striking bluish tones, and it is also Norwegian. Natural stone provided both the weight and the durability this project needed.

How does sustainability influence your work?

- In my view, one of the most important sustainable choices is to select materials that are made to last, both aesthetically and physically. Larvikite is a highly durable and long-lasting material. It does not weaken over time and remains beautiful with very little maintenance. It is reassuring to know that the structure rests on such a solid foundation.

Post will be exhibited at SaloneSatellite in Milan from 21 to 26 April 2026.
