Behind the preserved façade of an 1850s villa, Paul Archer Design has reshaped the interior around contemporary family life. A generous kitchen opens towards the garden, while an adjoining preparation kitchen and pantry keep everyday activity discreetly tucked away. American walnut cabinetry and brown pigmented polished concrete establish a warm material palette, balanced by restrained detailing and the building’s historic character.
Quarried in Sirevåg, near Egersund in Norway, Lundhs Antique® from Lundhs Real Stone®, is distinguished by its deep brown tones and shimmering crystals. These natural variations give the stone depth and an individual character, bringing a subtle richness to the interior.
In the kitchen, Lundhs Antique® forms both the countertop and splashback. Together, these surfaces give the stone a generous presence, allowing its structure and tactility to become part of the room’s expression. Alongside the walnut, its warm colouring creates a close relationship between wood and stone.
