When Ingrid Heier, Digital Marketing Manager at Lundhs, and her family set out to completely renovate their house, they wanted to create a space that combined functionality, warmth, and a clear connection to the surrounding nature.
The result is a home that feels solid, vibrant, and authentic—designed for family life, with materials that withstand the test of time and tell their own story.

The kitchen and living area form the heart of the home, and here Lundhs Ocean® takes center stage. The family has chosen materials that together create a calm and balanced composition. Solid oak, steel, and natural stone come together in a warm, tactile contrast that reinforces the desire for a robust yet inviting space for both everyday life and social gatherings.
The deep blue-gray tone and natural crystals of Lundhs Ocean® bring the room to life, while the silk surface highlights texture and depth. The countertop withstands heat up to 300°C and requires minimal maintenance—qualities that make it a practical and enduring choice for a lively family kitchen. The subtle sheen of the stone reflects light in a way that changes throughout the day, a constant reminder of the presence of nature inside the home.

In the entrance hall, the family wanted to make a bold statement—an artistic focal point inspired by the British artist Martin Creed. The floor is tiled in broad, graphic stripes of natural stone from both Norway and Finland: Lundhs Antique®, Lundhs Emerald®, Lundhs Royal®, Lundhs Baltic Green®, and Lundhs Baltic Brown Light®.
The combination creates a playful yet sophisticated introduction to the home—a first impression that captures both the diversity of nature and the family’s personality.
Throughout the home, natural materials remain at the forefront—not only for their aesthetic quality but for the sense of tactility and ease they bring to everyday life. A place for serenity, for living, and for play—with nature as the closest neighbor.
