In the heart of Hammerdalen, a historic area with deep industrial roots, the Saga staff restaurant is envisioned as a seamless blend of past and present. The space functions as an inviting area that caters to the needs of tenants while showcasing sustainable design and premium materials. With the expertise of MAD architects and execution by Betonmast, the space transforms into a vibrant, multipurpose area capable of hosting up to 400 people.

Central to the staff restaurant’s design is the choice of Lundhs Antique. Its warm tones and dynamic texture perfectly complement the building's brick façade, ensuring a consistent aesthetic throughout the space. The stone, known for its durability and timeless beauty, is selected not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its practicality in professional kitchen and dining environments. Its exceptional resistance to wear, heat, and daily use makes it an ideal choice for such demanding settings.

The palette draws inspiration from the building's exterior, establishing a visual connection between the interior and the surrounding architecture. Lundhs Antique’s natural warmth harmonizes beautifully with the light wood structures visible throughout the space. This balance of materials creates an atmosphere that is both inviting and elegant, aligning with the vision of an accessible yet sophisticated dining area.

Bringing such a visionary project to life requires close collaboration among all partners. The partnership with Lundhs ensures the seamless integration of the stone, while Made by Hand, a Danish lighting manufacturer, adapts their designs to meet the project’s strict Breeam requirements. The result is a stunning example of how thoughtful design and high-quality materials come together to elevate both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

With Lundhs Antique at its core, the staff restaurant at Saga embodies the values of sustainability, quality, and timeless design. Situated between the industrial heritage and modern waterfront of Hammerdalen, it stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful architecture and local materials to create spaces that serve both people and the environment for generations to come.
