Natural Stone Accessories for the Home

Whilst Lundhs Real Stone is most commonly used for kitchen worktops and surfaces, here at Lundhs we are passionate about finding alternative uses for our materials. Over the years we have been lucky enough to collaborate with a number of distinguished designers to create limited edition accessories, furniture and one-off installation pieces, all of which celebrate the versatility and natural beauty of Lundhs Real Stone.

Lundhs Real Stone Accessories

Last year we launched our very own collection of homeware accessories. Made from 100% natural stone, the collection is comprised of pestle and mortars, salt bowls, platters and serving boards in our exquisite Norwegian Larvikite and Anorthosite materials.

Acting as the perfect addition to the home, each of the products has been designed for everyday use in Lundhs Emerald, Lundhs Royal, Lundhs Antique and Lundhs Blue. Serving as statement pieces as well as practical kitchen accessories, the 100% Real Stone accessories are guaranteed to add a touch of elegance to the home.

The Epilogue Collection by Vera & Kyte

Created in collaboration with Norwegian design duo Vera & Kyte, the Epilogue collection is our latest exclusive range of home accessories that uses surplus material from Lundhs Real Stone production facilities, breathing new life into the precious natural stone. Launched earlier this year at London Design Festival, the exclusive collection is made up of vases and boards combined with tinted glass and warm wood accents. Meticulously crafted down to the finest detail, the beautifully designed pieces carefully pair the hue of the tinted glass with colour-stained oak to accentuate the natural colour variations within each strand of the precious Larvikite and Anorthosite stones. Characterised by both curved and linear silhouettes, each exclusive piece depicts the delicate and unique nature of the stone’s character. A true celebration of the beauty of real stone, the Epilogue collection gives the stone a natural place in the contemporary living space.

Designers Vera Kleppe and Åshild Kyte commented: “Working with Lundhs towards reducing waste and extending the life of this natural resource was a rewarding starting point for the design and collaboration. Cut off slabs left over from countertop manufacturing are the base material for the Epilogue collection. Using their standard measurements as our building blocks, the slabs are cut to precision and transformed into new decorative objects for the modern home. The exceptional durability of the material leads us to create objects with a formal elegance for everyday use that will age beautifully and last a lifetime.”

The Essence Collection by Jenkins & Uhnger

Long-term friends of Lundhs Real Stone, we have collaborated with British and Norwegian design duo Jenkins & Uhnger on a number of projects over the years. We were therefore delighted to work with them on our very first accessories collection – Essence. A limited edition series of tableware accessories, the exclusive collection is made up of three boards, two vases, three trays and a pestle and mortar using Lundhs Emerald, Lundhs Royal and Lundhs Antique complemented by wood and brass detailing.

Launched at London Design Fair in 2018, the exceptional series of limited edition pieces catches the light in its elliptical shape and acts as a stunning addition to the modern home.

Speaking of the collection, Marketing Director Hege Lundh said, “Here at Lundhs it’s really important for us to demonstrate the wide range of use that natural stone has. We have been working with designers from Norway and abroad on selected projects over the past few years and have experienced an increased interest in using natural stone. It is for this reason that we are now launching a series of high-end exclusive objects made of Norwegian natural stone, created by Norwegian designers, produced in Scandinavia.”

Designers Thomas Jenkins and Sverre Uhnger commented:“We have been working with Lundhs on several occasions since we first met in 2015. Larvikite is a well-known and highly regarded stone in Norway and a natural choice for designers and architects. Every material has its own character and properties that make it suitable for different uses. We really appreciate working with natural materials because of their appeal to the user and creating shapes and functions that enhance the aesthetic of a material is something we always strive for. Natural stone has its limits but for us that is something that gives the creative process direction. We really like the way the materials play, relate and complement each other. That they can be used in different rooms and situations, making them versatile and they are something we personally would like to use everyday.”
